Introduction

A. The movie, ''the lion king'', is the hottest animated movie to hit the screen in a long time.
In this movie, the classic battle of good and evil is fought. Good is represented by mufassa,
The lion king, and his son simba, who is the king to be. Evil is represented by mufassa's
Brother, scar. His plot: to kill off mufassa and simba and become king. He uses hyenas
To attempt this task. They are pesty and persistent.

1. As i watched this movie i realized the hyenas are not unlike the problems that
Plague many marriages today.

2. These problems are pesty and persistent also. They can do great harm and even
Destroy a marriage if not dealt with quickly and decisively.

B. This analogy is not without a biblical foundation. This foundation is found, among other
Places, in the song of solomon.

1. The song of solomon is an interesting book. It has been interpreted in many ways.

2. I agree with paige patterson who, in his book, on the song of solomon says, ''...the
Major significance of the song of solomon is an idyll of love that focuses upon
Companionship, loyalty, joy, peace, devotion, forgiveness, chastity, tenderness, and
Sexual union as the plan and purpose of god in marriage.
3. The song of solomon is profitable for all those who seek to follow god's plan in
Marriage.

C. In the midst of this great book on marriage there is a warning. In chapter 2 verse 15 the
Writer says:

''Catch us the foxes, the little foxes that spoil the vines for our vines have
Tender grapes.''

1. The word for ''foxes'' can be translated ''jackals''. Jackals are hyena like animals that
Prey on other animals. They travel in packs and are persistent and pesty and
Powerful.

2. They are very representative of the problems that can ruin the tenderness of the
Marriage relationship.

D. For the next two messages i want to deal with several of the fatal foxes that are out ...
