Title: My Help Comes From The Lord

Author: Dr. Darrow Perkins

Text: Psalm 121

INTRODUCTION: Does anybody here know anything about needing some help from time to time? It appears that things are going well for a while and then all of a sudden, something happens that messes with your equilibrium and makes you feel like you need some help.

- Some things come at you and you had no clue they were coming your way;

- Some things come at you and you're not sure why they're coming your way;

- Some things come at you and you don't even know how to respond to them initially;

- Some things come at you and you know you can't handle them by yourself.

That's when you need to know what help is available to you and who has the real power to help you in your situation. I've said before that most times, we have the tendency to do what we think we should do and that is go tell one of our friends about our situations, thinking they can give us the help that we need. Maybe they've been there for us in the past and we feel we can rely on them; maybe they came through for us before and we feel they will come through again; maybe we really don't know who to turn to and decide to go to the first person that comes to mind. Whatever the case may be, I believe it's important for us to go to somebody with a proven track record, somebody who has shown themselves worthy of our faith and trust; somebody who will be there in the thick of things when the friends thin out. Of course, I'm referring to the Lord who has the ability to do what nobody else can do. When you don't know where to turn to or who to turn to, just know that you can turn to the Lord and know that My Help Comes From The Lord!!
