Title: We Already Have The Victory!
Author: Dr. Darrow Perkins
Text: Revelation 12:10-12
INTRODUCTION: If we're not careful, we will allow the things of life to take us into a tailspin and make us feel like we've already been defeated. Some might refer to it as the pressures of life, some may call it trials and tribulations; some may even call it the hand was dealt to them. The tragedy to this is that they sometimes (most times) allow their situations and circumstance dictate to them their outcome based on their assessment of the situation and not the power of the One who is able to bring them through. Nobody ever said that this life would be easy, but I've found out that it has become easier to deal with knowing Jesus as Lord and Savior. When you know Him in that way, you walk away with the attitude of being a victor and no longer a victim.
In these troubling and trying times that we are living in, as the people of God, we do not have the luxury of walking around with a defeated attitude or even to the point of looking like there's no hope for us, our situation, or our society. Yes, society is bringing about some changes that are contrary to the Word of God, such as same-sex marriage, greed is rampant in the land, and there appears to be no real or genuine concern for our fellowman, to the point that we have difficulty speaking to one another, but that should not and cannot be a hindrance to our attitude towards God and His power to be Jehovah-Jireh (The Lord our Provider); His power to be Adonai-Jehovah (The Lord our Sovereign); His power to be Jehovah-Elohim (The Eternal Creator); or His power to be Jehovah-Elohay (The Lord My God). When you know God in this way or this manner, you already know that you have the victory in Him and because He is God and victory is what He's about!!
