Luke 2: 1-7
Introduction
A. Christmas is a wonderful time.
1. Families get together.
2. Presents are exchanged.
3. Tons of food is eaten.
Ill. The 7 fruitcakes are passed around and stored until next Year.
4. Children are ballistic.
B. Christmas is god's gift to us.
1. Man did not create christmas.
2. God gave it to us.
C. The first christmas was so different from today.
D. Christmas is as relevant today as it was the first time it was Celebrated in a manger in the far away city of bethlehem.
E. At the first christmas celebration:
I. The testimony of god was proven.
A. For years god had promised israel he would sent a savior into The world.
B. Years had passed and nothing had happened.
1. Many began to mock the coming of the messiah.
2. Many ceased watching for him.
3. God had not forgotten and god had not broken his Promise to israel or to the world.
Ill. Much like the return of christ.
C. God's testimony will be fulfilled in our lives also.
1. Whosoever shall call on the name of the lord shall be Saved.
2. He who has begun a good work in us will complete it.
3. I can do all things through christ who strengthens me.
4. Why stand gazing up into the heavens...
5. Let not your hearts be troubled...
Ii. The timing of god is perfect.
A. Jesus was born according to the calendar of god not the Calendar of man.
B. God's timing is perfect in our lives also.
