I Corinthians 2: 1-5
Introduction
A. Faith is our greatest asset, and unbelief is our greatest enemy.
1. It was unbelief that caused adam and eve to sin.
2. It was unbelief that kept israel out of the promised land.
3. It was unbelief that tied the hands of jesus in his Hometown.
4. It is unbelief that sends a person to hell.
Ill. John 3:18 ''he who believes in him is not condemned, but he Who does not believe is condemned already, because he has Not believed in the name of the only begotten son of god.''
B. I corinthians 2: 1-5 describes for us faith: its object; its Operation; its opportunity; its obedience.
I. The object of biblical faith. Vs. 1-2.
A. Faith must have the right object.
1. Hear so often, ''only believe!''
2. The key is in the object of your belief. Will the object Support the belief?
3. Many view faith as nothing more than positive thinking. If You can visualize it you can have it.
Ill. Little boy came home from school and said to his dad, ''Dad, i think i flunked my math test.'' dad replied, ''now, be More positive,'' to which the little boy said, ''ok, i'm Positive i flunked my math test.''
B. Faith meets rational objections.
1. Paul reminded the corinthian believers he had not come To razzle, dazzle them with the rational and wisdom of Man. He had come in the power of god.
2. If faith is in the right object, it will handle the Objections that arise in our lives.
3. In salvation faith handles all the objections we can Throw at it.
4. In daily matters the same is true.
Ill. This sunday, every person tithe sunday. Faith handles Our objections to god's plan for giving.
