Title: One Man (4)
Series: The Book of Romans
Author: Jeff Ecklund
Text: Romans 5
We are going to finish up chapter 5 of Romans this morning, and I want to emphasize a couple of things as we go.

Romans 5:6-8 (ESV)
6 For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For one will scarcely die for a righteous person-though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die-
8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
We have something in us, created in us if you will, that knows how to pursue stuff when we want to.
I'm a researcher before I buy something. I read reviews, articles & generally I can almost know as much about a product when I decide to buy it than the salesperson!
People up in this neck of the woods know how to pursue stuff... Whether it's firewood, elk, morel mushrooms or huckleberries right?
We employ special clothes, scents, cameras, predict the weather.
You can have apps on your phone that show you private land vs public land you can pursue game on. Tree stands, or how about fishing? Fishing apps...Guys that know how to fish will show up with a sporting goods store...
And as good as we can be in pursuing stuff...
You need to know that God is a pursuer! In the garden (as this chapter deals with Adam), God was the first pursuer!
Adam/Eve when they sinned, didn't run toward God, they ran away from God, hid from God..
Genesis 3:8-9 (ESV)
8 And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden. 9 But the Lord God called to the man and said to him, "Where are you?"
