- Dr. Adrian Rogers said, "Revival is when God comes down." The very reason we have gathered this week is because we want that to happen.

- Tonight, turn to Ezekiel 37 and let's read one of the most familiar stories in the old testament and see revival in a stark fashion. (READ)

- Every time I read this story, I wonder what must have been going through the Ezekiel's mind when God carried him to a valley and not a mountain, when he saw the bones (dry bones) and not people? What did he think when he saw the barrenness of it all? What did he think when God said, "Prophecy to the bones?" What would you have thought?

- Don't take offense, but I've been there - preaching to people don't listen, won't listen, people who don't respond. After working in a Funeral Home for a short time, I sometimes compare what Ezekiel was called to do to "preaching in the prep room." In the prep room, no one responds to anything. You can shout, scream, cry, or anything else - but there is no response because there is no life. If God can revive Ezekiel's valley of bones, He can (I believe, will) do it anywhere. What would happen if God got a hold of you and me like He does these bones?

- Ezekiel is given the task of speaking about and into this dismal situation.

1) The Beginnings - How does this begin? Everything has a beginning. Genesis 1 & John 1 both say, "In the beginning. "Don't overlook the beginning because it is important. Look in vs 1; "The Hand of the Lord was upon me" and "The Spirit of the Lord brought me out." Without this, Ezekiel had nothing to say, life was the valley was impossible, and revival was a pipe dream. Don't miss this: life begins with God. In fact, everything begins with God and without the Hand and Spirit of the Lord is no hope.
