A Blueprint For Daily Living
Larry Wynn
2 Timothy 3:13-17

I. INTRODUCTION

A. We live in:

1. Complex times:

-So many decisions to make.
-So many choices to consider.
-So many problems to face.
-So much to do. -So much to think about.

2. Confusing times:

-Everything is relative. -There, seemingly, are no absolutes. -Moral values are rapidly being eroded away.

B. Is there a reliable blue print for living in such complex and confusing times? ILLUSTRATION: Let your fingertips do the walking.

1. There is. It's the Bible.

2.The Bible has been is a Book of unchanging prin- ciples in an ever changing world.

C. Why the Bible?

1. It is God's Word, not man's.

2. It gives Wisdom: Every aspect of life is dealt with.

3. It is powerful and lasting. Matt. 24:35 ''Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my Words shall not pass away.''

4. It is life changing.

D. Why is it not put to greater use?

(Gallup poll points out 1/4 of the population reads the Bible less than 1x a month; 20% never.)

1. Do not understand the importance.

ILLUSTRATION: PRESIDENTS Thomas Jefferson referred to the words of Jesus as ''...the most sublime and benevolent code of morals which has ever been offered to man.''

John Quincy Adams: ''I have made it a practice for several years to read the Bible through in the course of every year. I usually devote to this reading the first hour after I rise every morning.''

Andrew Jackson: ''The Bible is the rock on which our Republic rests.''

Abraham Lincoln: ''The Bible is the best gift God has ever given to man. All the good from the Savior of the world is communicated to us through this book.''

Woodrow Wilson: ''The Bible is the Word of Life..I beg that you will read it and find this out for yourself. When you have read the Bible, you will know that it is the Word of God.''

Calvin Coolidge: ''In this Book will be found the solution to all the problems of the world.''
