- Last week we began a sermon series called Questions for God. Over the next several weeks we're going to look at the Bible, and try to answer some very important questions. Last week, on Easter, we began with a very important question, Can a Dead Man Really Live Again? This week, we come to Psalm 143 and we're asking the question, Can I Trust God With My Future? Let's read this psalm and see if we can answer this very important question. READ 1-12

- I want to zoom in for a moment and focus on the request in verse 8. David prays, "Make me know the way I should go." (ON SCREEN) Have you ever felt that way? "God, I need your input and your direction here. What choice should I make? Which path should I take? Where should I go?" We've all been there before. We want to know which way to go and we need to surrender and trust God with our future.

- This week, I started thinking about how different people approach the future. Some people ignore the future. They just live for the moment. They are all about the present, what's happening right in front of them. If you're one of those people, you need to know that ignoring the future doesn't change its reality.

- Other people hope the future will just somehow work itself out. They know it's coming; they know it's on the horizon" but their strategy is to just hope. *For instance, I heard a famous movie star named Robert Pattinson. He's been pretty successful as an actor, starring in the Twilight series, The Batman, and even Harry Potter. When asked about the direction of his career, he said: "I don't want to make a mistake on what to do next. You just have to kind of think: Well, my plan is maybe a miracle will happen and everything will be fine." He then concludes with uncertainty, "Just...Uhh, I guess the plan is to just hope?"*1
