INTRODUCTION

A. WHAT IS THE MOST POWERFUL WITNESSING TOOL AVAILABLE TO YOU? THE MOST EFFECTIVE?

Your personal testimony. If you are saved you have a testimony.

B. PAUL, WHEN CONFRONTED BY OPPOSITION DID NOT ENTER A DEEP THEOLOGICAL DEBATE WITH THE ACCUSERS. HE GAVE HIS TESTIMONY.

Paul was wise. He shared Christ on the basis of where people were. In Athens he appealed to their interest in the nature of God. In Ephesus he dealt with life-styles. Before his Hebrew kinsmen he gave his testimony. The greatest need in sharing Christ is wisdom.

C. The personal testimony is effective because:

I. IT IS PERSONAL. 22:1-2.

A personal testimony does not relate views but news. People debate Scripture and argue over views of different natures, but when it comes to the personal testimony it is yours.

Paul simply said, "Men this is what happened to me."

A personal testimony relates personally to the other person. Identity is important. The person to whom you are witnessing can identify with the personal testimony. The testimony speaks to where the person is living. It comes alive.

II. THE PATTERN OF THE TESTIMONY.

The testimony begins with your life before Christ. Notice Paul began with his life as a Pharisee. The past is not glamorized nor need it be detailed. Beware of bragging about the past or being so consumed with it you never get to the present.
