Introduction
A. The greatest evangelist, beyond those of the bible, in my opinion, who has ever lived is billy graham.
1. Since that day on the hillside of california he has stuck true to the stuff.
Ill. Television program on wednesday night. Talked about his commitment to the bible; his relationship to presi- dents; (a spiritual one not a poli- tical one. Does not subscribe to the views of many of these folks. His hope is to reach them with the gos- pel.) Program was, in part, an interview with chuck templeton; the man who parted ways with graham over the bible. He said, ''graham, in my opinion, committed intellectual suicide when he made the decision not to question the bible.''
2. The key to billy graham's effective- ness has been his call to people to make a decision about christ.
A. His call is an immediate call.
B. In keeping with that theme: ''decision magazine'' and ''the hour of decision''.
C. Crusade after crusade, in all types of weather, graham issues a call to people to immediately trust christ.
B. This is in keeping with what the bible says about salvation and the call to be saved.
1. The decision is an urgent one. We are urged not to delay.
2. Nowhere in the bible are we encour- aged to delay our trust in christ.
A. Joshua 24:15 ''...choose for your selves this day whom you will serve...''
(1.) Must choose for yourself. (2.) Must choose today.
B. Proverbs 27:1 ''do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring forth.''
Ill. What do you need to do that you have been delaying?
-somebody to forgive. -someone to tell you love them. -someone to visit. -a letter to write, or a call to make. -a decision to make.
Ill. Procrastination is a thief. Rob us of the most precious of things.
