I. OBSERVATIONS ABOUT STRESS.

A. EVERY PERSON HAS STRESS IN HIS LIFE.

(STRESS CAN COME FROM:)

1. Things you don't have control over.

2. Too much to do, too short of time to do all them.

3. Relational problems.

B. STRESS CAN BE POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE.

1. Can move us out of a comfort zone.

2. Can force us to seek right solutions.

3. Can drive us to Christ.

C. STRESS CAN BECOME HARMFUL.

D. MUCH STRESS IS UNNECESSARY.

1. Stress can stem from:

a. Hate.

b. Guilt.

c. Inferiority.

2. There are certain types of people who are stressed more easily than others.

a. Supersensitive to criticism.

b. Excessively aware of weaknesses.

c. Abnormally prideful of achieve- ment.

d. People absorbed by the successes of others.

e. Greedy folks.

E. WE CAN LEARN TO DEAL EFFECTIVELY WITH STRESS.

II COR. 4: 8-9 ''WE ARE PRESSED DOWN ON EVERY SIDE BY TROUBLES, BUT NOT CRUSHED OR BROKEN. WE ARE PERPLEXED BECAUSE WE DO NOT KNOW WHY THINGS HAPP- EN AS THEY DO, BUT WE DON'T GIVE UP AND QUIT. WE ARE HUNTED DOWN, BUT GOD NEVER ABANDONS US. WE GET KNOCKED DOWN, BUT WE GET UP AGAIN AND KEEP GOING.''
