Most people in America recognize the name Robert E. Lee. You most likely know him as the Confederate General during the Civil War. But did you realize, that after Robert E. Lee retired from the military... he became the President of a University in Lexington, Virginia?

It's called Washington and Lee University-which was named after George Washington (who gave a bunch of money to the university in the 1700's) ... but it's also named after Robert E. Lee, because of his transformative leadership from the year 1865 to 1870.

While Lee was President of the University, a new student approached him in his office one day and asked for a copy of the school's rules and regulations. Lee looked at him that day and said, "Son, we don't have any rules and regulations in print." The young man said, "You mean to tell me... this school doesn't have any rules?" To which Lee replied and said, "You know, we do have one rule... and that one rule is simply this... BE KIND!" ...that's it... just be kind.

Can you imagine how different our world would be today... if people would just follow this one simple rule? Kindness is uncommon in our world today.

Nearly everywhere you look, people are isolated and unkind... demonstrating anger and animosity against others. Go to the store this afternoon, (you know what you'll see?) ... people frowning and mad. As you drive home after church today, you may very well have someone cut you off in traffic, or even flip you off (and sometime that happens... before you even get out of the church parking lot!)

There is a lack of love in this world today. Tearing people down and criticizing others has become the norm. That's true in person-to-person settings, and now, the internet has made it even worse. Social media has become a cesspool of toxic demonstrations of unkindness... This culture has become obsessed ...
