Introduction
1. The First Time I Ever Heard This Story as A
Boy I Was Mesmerized. The Ancient City of Troy
Had Been in a Fierce Battle. It Was the Trojans Of
Troy Against the Greeks. The Fighting Was
Intense, but Troy Had Stood Her Ground and In
Order to Break Through the Trojans Fierce
Defense of Their Cities the Greeks Got Back On
Their Ships in the Distance and Headed Out to Sea.
2. The Trojan Soldiers Were Standing on The
Top of the Fortress Watching in Relief as These
Greeks Sailed Away. Then, They Noticed a Strange
Object That Was Just Outside the City Gates. It
Was the Largest Wooden Animal They Had Ever
Seen, but They Didn’t Know What It Meant.
3. The Council of Elders Met to Consider
What They Ought to Do. They Finally Decided That
The Greeks Had Left Behind This Large Wooden
Horse as a Gift or Symbol to Show That They Had
Fully Surrendered to a Greater Foe.
4. They Opened the City Gates and a Garrison
Of Soldiers Went Out to Pull the Horse Inside.
They Admired the Beautiful Workmanship and The
Entire City Gathered Around to Admire This Horse.
It Was Such a Fantastic Monument To
Commemorate This Long Fought Out Moment Of
Victory.
5. You Can Imagine What Happened That Night. A
Great Celebration Took Place. The People Ate And
Drank and Danced and Celebrated Late Into The
Night Until They Finally All Went to Sleep.
6. When All Was Dark and All Was Quiet Just
Before Sunup This Wooden Horse Came to Life. A
Secret Door Underneath the Belly of This Horse
Was Opened. One Human Head Peered Out to Make
Sure the Coast Was Clear. One by One a Squad Of
Greek Soldiers Came From Inside That Horse And
Went to Strategic Places Inside the City And
Waited for the Signal to Attack. In the Meantime,
The Entire Greek Fleet That Had Sailed ...
