Introduction

1. Most of Us Are Familiar With the Comic Strip
Peanuts. One of My Favorite Episodes Is Lucy And
Linus Are Staring Out the Window and They Are
Watching This Humongous Thunderstorm Pass
Through. The Rain Is Just Coming Down in Sheets.
Trembling in Fear, Lucy Looks at Linus and Says,
“Boy! Look At It Rain! What if It Floods the Whole
World?”

2. Linus Calmly Replied, “Lucy, It Will Never Do
That, Because in the Nineth Chapter of Genesis,
God Promised Noah That Would Never Happen
Again and the Sign of That Promise Is the Rainbow.”
A Big Smile Comes Across Lucy’s Face and She
Turns Back Toward the Window and Says, “Linus
You’ve Taken a Great Load off of My Mind.” Linus
Said, “Sound Theology Has a Way of Doing That.”

3. I Don’t Believe There Has Ever Been a Time
That the Church Needs to Hear More Sound
Theology Than Today. There Is Not a More
Important Doctrine to Discuss Than What The
Entire Bible Is All About. One of the Disciples
Named John Wrote a Gospel and Even Said He
Wrote the Gospel for This Reason.

“But These Are Written That You May
Believe That Jesus Is the Messiah, the Son
Of God, and That by Believing You May Have
Life in His Name.” (John 20:31, Niv)

4. What He Said About His Book Is Actually The
Theme of the Entire Book. Salvation Is Like A
Kaleidoscope. When You Begin to Turn It You See
Different Aspects, Different Virtues, Different
Qualities, Different Colors and There Are Various
Words That Are Used to Describe the Whole
Process of Salvation From Beginning to End. Yet
To Both Unbelievers and Believers, You Could
Throw These Words Out and You Would Get This
Response More Often Than Not, “What in The
World Is That?” What in the World Does That
Word Mean? We Are Beginning a Series We Are
Going to Call “What in the ...
