[EXAMPLE]> I have always had a good appetite. I enjoy eating. When I was growing
up, I was made to eat everything on my plate; and because of it, my stomach stretched.
Each year I increased my appetite because I was forced to eat. Through the years, I
have learned to eat different foods that I didn't like...[supposedly our appetites change
every 6 years.] But there are 2 things that I could eat every day with every meal.
"Chicken" and ice cream. Chicken on the bone; boneless chicken; chicken
wings...[Grilled; fried; preacher's style] I will eat most any kind of ice cream...I can
promise you that my appetite can be filled because of these 2 foods.
If you notice, one food is healthy and good for me, one is more than likely not. Most of
the time, "unhealthy food" causes me to feel bad...bloated; weighted down;
miserable...I will leave the table saying; "I wish I had left off that piece of pie; cookies
and cream ice cream...
*Before you closely examine what I eat, understand that all of us have different
cravings. Our problem has never been a lack of appetite...I want to be honest; I don't
ever remember craving celery; raw carrots; raw broccoli and Colliflower...my taste
buds won't go there because my brain tells it not to. [There is a saying; "You are what
you eat."]
Here is [Matthew 5:6] Jesus talks about an individual having an appetite, a
hunger and thirst built into our system. Jesus uses the language of physical appetite,
but He connects it with that which is Spiritual. Jesus declares; "Blessed are they which
do hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled."
There is a fullness, a happiness that is promised by our Lord if we hunger and
thirst for "righteousness". Jesus is calling for us to hunger and thirst for something that
only He can fill, and we will find satisfaction and happin ...
