Title: All We Need Is Found In Jesus (3 of 4)
Series: Let Not Your Heart Be Troubled
Text: John 14:4-11
Author: Samuel Burgess
INTRODUCTION:
[ILLUSTRATION]> In one Peanuts cartoon Lucy told Charlie Brown, "I hate everything. I hate everybody. I hate the whole wide world!" Charlie says, "But I thought you had inner peace." Lucy replies, "I do have inner peace. But I still have outer obnoxiousness."
There have been times in our lives when our peace was based simply on assumption. But when the reality of our situation set in, we realized that we needed something more.
As a Christian, you know that true inner peace is found in the Lord. When your mind and heart is set on the Lord, He produces a peace inside of you that you cannot get from anything or anyone else, and nothing will be able to take it from you...not even difficult circumstances.
Real peace begins by receiving Christ into your heart; receiving Him as your Savior and Lord. Real peace continues as you stay right with the Lord; obeying and following Him. Confusion in your life [will cease] when you listen to God because there is no confusion in Him.
Many people are seeking and searching for something to calm their troubled heart. Many who know they are a born-again believer are deeply disturbed and their lives are filled with turmoil.
There has been a belief that has been passed down over the last several years that is false; it is leading sinners away from God. It is leading some Christians down the wrong path; they are turning from Biblical truths they believe---and it is also sending many lost sinners to hell.
[Here is that belief]: "Believe whatever you want; live anyway you want; just as long as you are sincere in what you do. You can believe in God, or you can believe in another way to Heaven. It really doesn't matter. All God wants you to do is be sincere in whatever you believe."
