Series: GREAT DOCTRINES OF SALVATION
Title: Doctrine of Sin (1 of 8)
Text: Genesis 3:1-8, Romans 3:23

Heaven is a prepared place for a prepared people. "Those who have salvation."
There are certain words I like:
Jesus -- Power -- SAVED
Those words have a dynamic quality.
People don't use the word SAVED any more.
People share their testimony and say,
"Since I joined the church."
"I went down to the front of the church."
"I went up to the preacher."
Or after a church service -- someone says, "We had five professions of faith."
Some people don't know profession from possession or pepto-bismol for that matter.
I like the word SAVED!
"Nine folks got Saved!" I know that ain't good english, but it sure is good theology!
People being SAVED -- that word has a bite in it. It brings excitement to my ears.
Hymn - "SAVED - SAVED - SAVED"

We are not saved by osmosis.
Being born in a garage doesn't make you an automobile.
It is proper to say:
1. I have been saved from the Penalty of sin which is hell and death.
2. I am daily being saved from the Power of sin. I have more power in my life over sin.
3. I will yet one day be saved from the Presence of sin and that is Glorification and Heaven.
All of these things must be considered in the "Doctrine of Sin."
When studying the "Doctrine of Salvation" the question must be asked:
"From what is man saved?"
To be saved suggests that I was lost.
To be purchased that I was without God.
To be found that I was strayed.
"Doctrine of Sin" - "What we are saved from?"
There was sin before there was salvation. There was s ...
