The Doctrine of Salvation is the result of man's sin -- God's answer to fallen man. Man must be saved from something.

The Doctrine of Sin
Romans 3:23 - "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"

Sin is that something that man must be saved from.
Romans 6:23 - " For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

Man, being spiritually dead by his sin can do nothing to save himself. The heart of God is moved in love and grace and God decides to provide salvation for man hence:

The Doctrine of Substitution

Once a man understands, and he must understand before he is ready for conversion, that he is a guilty sinner, and that Jesus Christ died to be his substitute for his payment, then he is ready for conversion -- to turn from the old life to a new way in Christ.

The Doctrine of Conversion

After conversion, his is Justified before God. Just-as-if-I'd never sinned. This is a position in which man is rightly related to God and stands accepted before God in the righteousness of Christ by faith in his heart.

The Doctrine of Justification

And now we come to the Doctrine of Eternal Security. You can know that you are eternally secure in Christ.

You need to know that you have it before you worry about losing it.

Someone once said, "If you can get it and not know it -- you can lose it and not miss it."

I believe in "Once Saved -- Always Saved!"

Salvation is related to the new birth. We say - "Born Again."

I remember many years ago when President Jimmy Carter used that slogan for his campaign. It brought the issue of being saved or born again to the national spotlight.

Nicodemus heard it hundreds of years ago from Jesus.
"Ye must be born again."

Physical birth -- born the first time in the flesh.
Spiritual birth - born the second ...
