We just finished another week of VBS. It was a long week. The older I get, the longer they get but, it was a wonderful week. We set records with our attendance. We had folks working the nursery, supper crew, adult crew leaders, youth helpers, games, imagination station, Bible adventures, penny war team, audio/visual team, ladies running check-in, speed bump crew (those who stand in the road to make sure everyone crosses safely to the other part of the campus), our wonderful VBS directors and who can forget Commander Spellstrong leading us this week.
We had the chance to share the Gospel with all our little ones and their families on Wednesday. (One quick story. Mrs. Wendy Spell, who did a magnificent job sharing the crucifixion and resurrection storysaid she heard a little one ask her crew leader, is that a true story. "Yes, baby. It is absolutely a true story. It is the best story." I don't know what our God will do with last week, but He will not waste the message of His Son's death, burial, and resurrection).
It was a good week. I am grateful for each one of you. Proud of my FBCLP family. Love each one of you.
While I enjoy watching and interacting with the little ones, what brings joy to my heart is seeing our faith family pull together. So many people contributed in one way or another. It was a reminder...
-Of how important each member is.
-That ministry requires all of us leaning into Jesus and working together to accomplish our God-given purpose of Exalting, Equipping and Evangelizing.
There was a comic strip that pictured a group of people in a boat. All but one had little megaphones. Like the coxswain for a rowing team, they were all shouting out encouragements for this one person who didn't have a megaphone but a paddle. In the picture there was also another boat.
