We have begun a series to prepare our hearts for Easter, which is just a few weeks away.

Wide numbers of religious people are observing Lent right now. Lent is a forty-day season where many people focus on prayer and fasting. The forty days is because Jesus faced temptation in the desert for 40 days and nights. Lent is done as a means to prepare hearts for Easter. Lent began on February 22, 2023, and you might notice others observing Lent because they place ashes on their forehead. Traci and I noticed a lady giving the news on one of the networks with ash on her forehead. I don't observe Lent personally, but I do want to prepare my heart to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus.

I want to see the Power of the Cross. There is no more wonderful news in all the world than that Christ has endured the wrath of God in our place so that our sins are no longer counted against us.
