Hey, if you have your Bible, please turn to Genesis chapter 3. Starting a brand-new series today on Genesis chapter 3. For the next four weeks we're going to be in this chapter. It's a series called "Sin and Salvation."

Now, Genesis chapter 3 is a much-maligned chapter in the Bible, and it is one of the most important chapters in the Bible, because Genesis 3 tells us why we're in the mess that we're in. If you don't have Genesis 3, you don't understand, well, where did sin come into being? Why is there death? Why is there disease? Why is there decay? Where is there so much abuse? Why is there so much disfunction? It's all explained in Genesis chapter 3. Now, there are those who will try and tell you, "Well, you know, Genesis, the first eleven chapters is just a story, that's just allegory, that's just myth, that's just legend. I mean, Genesis 3, that never happened. There wasn't an Adam and Eve, a literal Adam and Eve. There wasn't a Garden of Eden. There wasn't the temptation in the Garden. There wasn't this forbidden fruit." Yes, there was! The Bible tells us that there was. Moses is writing the Book of Genesis. Where is he getting his information? From God! And God was there, and God is telling us this is what happened. And if you try to throw Genesis 3 out and say that it's just myth and legend and fable, then it doesn't make sense, this whole idea of salvation. Why do we need a Savior? Because of Genesis 3. Why do we need to be born again, as it says in John 3? Because of Genesis 3. Adrian Rogers used to say, 'If Genesis 3 is a myth, John 3 is a farce." You don't need to be born again. And so, we have people that like to pick and choose. They think they can take the Bible you would go to a cafeteria. And you can say, "Well, I want some of that. Nah, I don't want that. I want this. No, I don't want th ...
