Well, I was reading this morning about a professor at Duke. He passed away about ten years ago. His name was James Bonk. He taught chemistry. He taught Introductory Chemistry, Chemistry 1, Chemistry 2. He taught those classes for over forty years at Duke. The students called it "Bonkistry" because James Bonk taught Chemistry, and it was "Bonkistry." Well, there's a story about him and two students. They took his introductory chemistry class, and they were doing pretty well in the class and the labs and the mid-term. Well, it came down to the final, and the final was on a Monday morning. And these guys said, "Hey, we got a solid grade in this class. We're not going to spend too much time studying for the final." And they decided on Friday to leave Durham, North Carolina and go to Virginia to hang out with some of their friends at the University of Virginia and spend the weekend there. And their attitude was, "Hey, we'll come back. We'll leave early Sunday morning. We'll come back Sunday afternoon. We'll study Sunday afternoon, Sunday night. We'll be ready for the test on Monday." Well, sure as the world, they didn't leave Sunday till late. They got back in the wee hours of the morning on Monday morning. The test is 8:00 on Monday, and they're not ready. They hadn't studied at all for it. So, these guys say, "Let's not go take the test. We can't take the test. We haven't studied for it." So, they waited till the final was over, and then they went and talked to the professor, Dr. Bonk, and said, "Ah, Doc, we were in Virginia, and we were going to come back on Sunday, and we were going to study and get ready for the test. But we had a flat tire, and we couldn't get help and couldn't get service. We were delayed about 24 hours before we could get back. Please, Doc, will you give us makeup final exam?" A ...
