Hebrews 3:12-19
We're on the third floor of this condo. The air is thin in Colorado. And by the time I got the luggage up there, I thought I was going to pass out. I just had to fall on the couch. And I was like, "What is the deal?" And we got the kids ready. We said, "Listen! Mom and I, we're going to unpack and do all that. You guys go outside and play." And so, we got them all fixed up to go outside in the snow and play. And we
came down after about 20 minutes and Amy is sitting there crying, our middle daughter. She's 8. She's crying. She had lost a glove. Her hand was frozen. She had snow in her boot. She said, "I want to go home." I said, "We're not going home. I spent a bunch of money to get us here. We're going to have fun." And so, I said, "Listen, Amy. We're going to go sledding. It's going to be a blast. You're going to love it." And this is before the days of GPS, and I'm terrible with directions, and so, I get in the car and just think, it's Breckenridge. I mean, it's not big. Surely, I can find a place where we can sled and tube and stuff like that. So, I get in the car. We all get in the car. We just start driving around and I get lost. And then, I have to turn around because it's like it's not in this direction. And so, I go to turn around. I go into a cul-de-sac to turn around and I get stuck in the snow, and I can't go forward, and I can't get unstuck. And I put it in reverse and the wheels just spin, and everything is just spinning. And my wife starts
laughing. She's told me on numerous occasions when bad things happen, "You know I have a nervous laugh." And I was like, "Yeah, I do. No, I wish you had told me that before we got married," because I wasn't laughing. It was horrible. I started to think, man, maybe Amy's right. Maybe we need to go home. This is just not starting out well.
