Have you ever had preconceived thoughts about someone, though you had never really had a one on one encounter with them? There are people out there that we think are uppity and high-headed because we assumed they were that way or we based our opinion of them off of someone else's assessment of them.

I used to work for a place and we had a V.P. of Manufacturing that seemed a bit distant and unfriendly, so most people avoided him. In time I got to know him and found out that he was nothing like everyone assumed. I would see him out and he would come up and shake my hand, always smiling and just as friendly as he could be.

I had allowed the assessment of others to misguide my perception of this man.

Sadly, we live in an age where there is a huge misperception of this man Jesus.

The world is seeking someone to love them, yet we proclaim a Jesus that is out to judge them and send them to hell. The Jesus that we read about in the gospels is not set to judge sinners, he will do that at the end of the world.

The Jesus that is in the gospels is a true friend of sinners, he came to seek and save those that are lost and he is longsuffering, not willing that any one, man, woman, boy, or girl would ever die and go to hell.

Unfortunately, in many cases, the Jesus that is preached about on Sundays is not the same Jesus that is in the bible, as shocking as that might be to many.
