You know I have a lot of thoughts. How about you? I have thoughts on movies, TV shows, sports, politics. - I have thoughts on all sorts of things. - But nothing is more important than what I think about God.
- I can be wrong about ... a sports opinion and that's no big deal. I can have a dumb opinion about a movie or TV show ... who cares. Some political matters are more important than others, particularly the ones with direct moral implication. But at the end of the day ... one day every political leader will bow the knee to Jesus.
- But what I think about God is of critical importance. - If I'm wrong about who God is ... that's eternally significant.
Beginning today we are diving into a series of messages on the Trinity. We are made to KNOW GOD. - We need to have the right things come into our mind when we think about God. His Word needs to shape how we understand Him. In the Bible God reveals Himself as Triune.
- There is One God, eternally exists as three persons ... Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Maybe you've been asked about the Trinity and it intimidates you or confuses you.
- There are some things that we can't fully grasp ... but there are some things God has revealed. - We can understand ... what God wants us to, what He has revealed to us. He has revealed to us important truths about Himself ... including the fact He is Triune.
