How many of you are old enough to remember... the Watergate scandal that led to the resignation of President Richard Nixon? Man... you guys are old! [HAHA!]

That's always been a story that fascinates me... and it's obviously a story that I've only read about because it happened in 1972, several years before I was born.

It's hard to imagine what that must have been like for Richard Nixon:

One day you're the President of the United States... you're one of the most powerful men in the world... you have Secret Service agents following you and protecting you at all times... every word you say is plastered on the front page... you give orders and everyone around you jumps to make sure they happen... You have private chefs and tailers... speech writers and public advisors... You have a private plane and a helicopter, and a fleet of bulletproof limousines gassed up and ready to bring you to anywhere you want to go...

But then something happens... and the very next day... you resign your position in disgrace... and all the benefits and all of the blessings... in one instant... are gone.

Imagine what that must have been like... You move out of the White House, you disappear from the public eye, and within days, nobody cares what you're thinking or what you're saying-that is... unless you're ready to confess your guilt in the scandal.

In just one fateful day-life dramatically changed for Richard and Pat Nixon.

When I read the story of David [in the Bible]-I imagine a similar scene... only, I believe what David experienced was even more traumatic... and even more humiliating than what Nixon went through in the late 70's.

You've got to understand-David was the King... and as King, he was by far one of the most powerful and influential people on the planet. His military was massive. His borders were being extended. His wealth was beyond anything we can imagine. ...
