If you have your Bible, please turn to John, chapter 3. We're in a series in the Book of John entitled, And the Word Became Flesh. Tonight, I want to talk to you about this subject: Snakes Bites and the Son of Man.
Billy Graham used to tell the story when he was young in the ministry. He said he was preaching in a little town and he had some time in the afternoon. He wanted to mail a letter, but he couldn't find a post office. He found a kid out in the community there, and he said, "Hey, son, do you know, can you tell me how to get to the post office?" And so, the little boy told him how to get to the post office. Billy was very appreciative and he said to the little boy, "Now, thank you, little boy. Now, listen. If you'll come to church tonight, I can tell you how to get to heaven." He said, "What do you think about that?" The little boy thought for a minute, and he said, "I don't think I'm coming." He said, "Why not?" He said, "How are you going to tell me how to get to heaven. You don't even know how to get to the post office."
Now, I want you to think about this for a minute. If somebody asks you, "How do I get to heaven?" would you be able to tell them the answer? Did you know that lots of people who come to church Sunday after Sunday after Sunday after Sunday, call themselves Christians, are not able to answer that question? They would get nervous. They would get flustered. They would be like, "I don't really know how to do that." I remember talking to a guy one time about his soul, and he kept telling me, "Oh, I'm okay. I'm fine. I'm fine." So, I just asked him, I said, "Okay, well, what would you say to someone who came to you and said to you, maybe it's somebody on an airplane, sat next to you on an airplane, and said to you, "Hey, can you tell me how to get to heaven because I don't know how." I said, "What would you say?" Well, obviously the ...
