Three Kinds of Faith (46 of 70)
And The Word Becomes Flesh
John 4:43-54
Pastor Jeff Schreve
If you have your Bible, please turn to John, chapter 4. One of the things that I did on the time away was to read a book on the life of George Muller. George Muller lived in the 1800's in Bristol, England. And George Muller is known for being a man of prayer and being a man of faith. Faith and prayer go together. Now, the Bible says, concerning faith, "Without faith it is impossible to please God, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him." Muller lived by faith, and he walked by faith, and he saw God do great things because he believed God and pleased God and trusted God for great things. Jesus didn't say, "According to your fame, according to your fortune, according to your family." "Be it done to you according to your faith." Faith is the currency of heaven. God moves when we believe Him for things. A little couplet says, "Pray, believe, and you'll receive; pray and doubt, you do without." Because, when you doubt God, then you don't see God do in your life.

And so, here's the question I want you to consider: What kind of faith do you have? Because without faith, it's impossible to please God. It's not improbable. It's not highly unlikely. It is impossible. In order to please God, you have to believe God. You have to exercise faith. Three kinds of faith. What kind of faith do you have?
The first kind: The first kind is a superficial faith. We see that in this nobleman at the beginning of this story. I'll begin reading John, chapter 4 verse 43. "And after two days (when He was there in Sam ...
