And The Word Became Fresh
John 14:1-6

If you have your Bible, please turn to John chapter 14. I want to talk about the future today. People like to know about the future, and the Bible has lots to say about the future. The Old Testament was filled with prophecies about what was going to happen in the future: prophecies about the coming of the Messiah. Now, in the Old Testament you had prophecies of the first coming of Jesus and prophecies of the second coming of Jesus. That's just what He does. And so, when they would look for the Messiah, that's what He was going to do. They missed Jesus by a million miles, because Jesus didn't come to rule and reign. That's His second coming. At His first coming, (Isaiah 53), He came to die. After Judas had left, He told the guys, His eleven, the genuine and the true, that He was getting ready to go away.
John chapter 13. I'll begin reading in verse 33. "Little children, I am with you a little while longer. You shall seek Me, and as I said to the Jews, I now say to you also, where I am going, you cannot come. A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that ...
