The Sheep of His Hand (25 of 70)
And The Word Became Flesh
John 10:22-33
Pastor Jeff Schreve

If you have your Bible, please turn to John chapter 10. We want to talk about being the Lord's sheep in a message I've entitled The Sheep of His Hand. Now, I got that title from a verse of Scripture in the Book of Psalms, Psalm 95, verse 6. This is from the Hebrew songbook. It says, "Come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the LORD our Maker, for He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture and the sheep of His hand."

We talked last week about the beginning of John chapter 10 where Jesus said He is the Good Shepherd. And the idea of God being our Shepherd and we being the sheep, that's all throughout Scripture. And so, in John 10, Jesus picks up on that and He says, "I am the good shepherd." Now, He is confronted by the religious leaders in verse 22 and following, and Jesus is going to tell them again about His sheep. And He contrasts His sheep with those who are not of His folk. The goats go to hell into the eternal fire prepare for the devil and his angels. You're either the Lord's sheep or you're one of the devil's goats. And when it says in Psalm 95, "...for are His people and the sheep of His pasture..." the big question is: Who are the "we?" Who are the "we?" because the "we" were definitely not the religious leaders when Jesus encountered them in Jerusalem in December of 32 A.D.

Look at verse 22 of chapter 10. "At that time the Feast of ...
