Galatians 5:13-26
About two months before I turned sixteen, I made the biggest purchase of my life to that point. I bought a car. You know, lots of guys that I went to high school with got cars. Their dads would buy them a car when they turned sixteen. It was a pretty cool deal to have a car when you turn sixteen. I had one friend. His dad was very well-to-do, and he got him a 1978 brand-new Trans Am, Smokey and the Bandit Trans Am. I think I have a picture of it. His was red. Burt Reynold's was black. But his was red. Another friend of mine got ahold of that car one Friday night, came to my house, and said, "Hey, I got Greg's car." I said, "He gave you his car?" He said, "Just for tonight let's go cruising." I didn't have a license. I was like, "Okay, let's do it." And we were just going up and down the roads just tromping on it. That car would get a second gear scratch. It was a lot of fun. Anyway, he got a Trans Am. I had another friend, and he got a brand-new Silverado truck. It looked something like this. It wasn't jacked up that high, but it was really cool. That thing would go from zero to 60 in 8 minutes. I mean, you'd need a lot of on-ramp for the freeway. It was four on the floor, eight hamsters under the hood. It was that kind of a vehicle. I got that before I turned 16. And my parents, I don't know why they did this, but they let me drive before I had my license, and it was kind of like, "Don't get in a wreck. Don't hit anybody, but here you go." And so, I'm driving along illegally, don't have a license, just have a learner's permit. But when I turned 16, as was the case for all my friends, you turned 16, the day you turned 16 you go to the DMV because you want to t ...
