I think we would all agree that there are very few things in life more exciting than the birth of a child. Debbie and I got to experience that as parents three times, and I still remember each time. Probably 1987, the first time was the one that really, really stands out because everything was brand-new. You know, you're not a veteran at this. You're a total rookie. Seeing Jill born, and then taking Jill home from the hospital, that was so awesome. You know, we have that song, "How sweet to hold (I think it was Bill Gaither), how sweet to hold a newborn baby." There's just something about a little baby.
Now, I got into some of Quinn's personal items, and I found a picture of him as a newborn baby. I think we have it up here. Was he not a cute little guy? That was little Quinn. Now, when you take home a baby it's a lot of work. The work begins! Mom has been doing a lot of work to birth the baby, but then you take the baby home, and the work begins. And the baby is eating and growing, and you want that baby to go from the bottle to solid food, from diapers to being able to care for themselves. That little baby is really cute, but it's not cute if the baby never grows up. If you have this monstrosity, can you imagine little Quinn looking like a homeless guy. And they're still in diapers, still on the bottle. We don't want that.
Now, for the last seven weeks we've been talking about grace, Beyond Amazing: Understanding the Grace of God. And today, we want to conclude the series with a question, and it's a very important question, and it's a very personal question. Are you growing in grace? Are you growing in grace?
