It was in the early 1900's in the little country called Wales. Wales is on the western side of Great Britain. It had a population of about 2 million people. Wales is only the size of New Jersey in land mass. Well, there was a young man who lived in Wales. His name was Evan Roberts. And he had a burden for revival, to see God work in his country and touch lives and change lives, and he began to pray. As a teenager, he was praying. He worked in the coal mines. And in the early 1900's God called him into the ministry. And when he was a young man, just at the age of 26, on October 31, 1904, he preached in his home church in Wales. Seventeen people were there. They prayed, and then he preached, and he gave the people what is needed for revival. And he said, "We need to confess our sin. We need to repent. We need to return to God. We need to put the Lord first. And he gave an invitation, and all seventeen people that were there responded, and said, "This is what we want. We want God to do a revival in our hearts and in our country." Well, they met the next night, and more people came. And the next night, and more people came. And the next night, and more people came. And that night, on October 3, 1904, it began a revival, seventeen people, it began a revival in Wales. At the end of six months, 100,000 people had put their faith and trust in Jesus Christ, and it was real, and it was genuine, and it changed their lives, and it changed the life of the community. It has been recorded that after that revival hit, bars closed in the community because there was no business. People weren't going to the bars. Sporting events were cancelled for lack of attendance.
