Warfare? What warfare?

Are we really in a spiritual war? Traditionally, the subject of spiritual warfare is dismissed. But we are at war!

Strange how we find it easy and believable to discuss Angels.

We have disregarded the subject of spiritual warfare and Scripture because we were afraid of it or it was not a traditional teaching.

In Oswald Sanders' book, "Satan, Is No Myth" says, "The consistent theme of the Bible from beginning to end is the conflict between good and evil, between God and the devil. It begins with the serpent in the garden and ends with the devil in the lake of fire in Revelation 20."

Can you imagine an army which does not understand the nature nor the character and methods of its enemy?

Yes -- we are at war, like it or not. It is a real war with real antagonists, real battle lines, and real weaponry. It is unseen, but no less real. We need to sound the battle cry, mobilize, train, and equip the soldiers, and "fight the good fight of faith."

I Timothy 6:12 - "Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses."

America has become the scene of a strange and sinister revival -- the revival of the occult. Witchcraft, satanism, and spiritualism have invaded our lives. It is time that we, as God's people, sound the battle cry.

Just a casual observance of Paul's writings will reveal that they are sprinkled with military terms denoting an intense warfare. He told Timothy to "endure harness as a good soldier of Jesus Christ."

2 Timothy 2:3-4 - "Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. (4) No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier."

2 Timothy 4:7 - "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith ...
