Big Idea:
It's likely that things going well in our lives has little to do with us. God is writing a bigger story and invites us to be a part of it.

Intro:
Each year our church does an alignment study, which means that all of our groups use the questions from the Sunday morning message. This provides alignment on how we can grow together in purpose and on purpose as the church. As we grow on purpose, it will change our community. Imagine when we begin practicing collectively patience, faithfulness, and self-control and the impact that has in our homes, relationships, and at work.

So this year's study will focus on the two brothers who handled life differently and how God uses both of them for a greater purpose.

How do you respond when something happens outside of your control? Are you quick to break? This series we'll track trough the lives of Joseph and Judah. We'll learn from Moses' storytelling that Joseph had to learn how to bend before he felt like breaking. Each week we'll see how Joseph's story was part of a much bigger story-God saving a broken family from starvation and making them into a nation that would bring forth His Son to save many.

They all betrayed the main character in their respective movie. This week in our series we'll see how Joseph and Judah's daughter-in-law, Tamar, handled betrayal. Whether it's been four days ago or four thousand years ago, betrayal has been a human problem since sin entered the picture.

How we respond to betrayal can reveal what we believe about God.
