Human beings are an interesting species. And I say that because for most of us... when it comes to 'doing our part' or 'fulfilling our obligations' ... our natural tendency is to DO the least amount required... and to GIVE the least amount allowed. And I don't say that as a criticism. I say it as an observation.
I don't think I've ever met a person, come TAX TIME... that said, "This year, I'm going to give back MORE than the IRS is asking of me." I've just never heard that.
I've never seen a person walk into a store, make a purchase and demand to pay more than it shows on the tag. Never. I've never heard of an employee that says, "You're paying me for 8 hours? Well guess what... I'm working 12 hours today for the exact same wage!"
You just don't hear those things from most people... in fact, most of us (if we're being honest) do the exact opposite. When we shop, we go straight to the clearance rack... Why? because we want to see how much we can get, while paying the least amount possible. Am I right? And that's not only true with shopping...
Come TAX TIME... we hire the best people possible, to ensure we can keep more, and give less. Isn't that what we do?
Not long ago, I was reading a business leadership article that polled over 2,000 workers in the US... and it was determined that the average American employee works 8.8 hours per day. But in this article, it also concluded that-"the average worker in America is truly only productive (doing their job) for 2 hours and 53 minutes during an 8.8-hour workday." (1) 1 That's pretty crazy, right?
Think about what that just said... When an employee is working for an employer... even thoug ...
