Judith Brandt is the author of, "The 50-Mile Rule: Your Guide to Infidelity & Extramarital Etiquette." In her book Brandt claims that women marry the best man their looks can attract, and men marry the best woman their incomes can afford. Just so you know, there is some truth surrounded by trash in her book!

However, on the whole, her book is nothing more than a handbook for cheaters! In it, she discusses such things as what makes a suitable affair-partner, the adultery rules you must never break, when to call it quits, and what to do if you are caught. As you can see, it's not exactly inspiration material!

Before the Christmas season began we we're in a series called "10 Words" and it's based on Deuteronomy 10:4: "The Lord wrote on the tablets the ten words he spoke to you on the mountain."

That was about seven weeks ago. After the sermon on "Thou shalt not murder," I needed a break! I preached a Thanksgiving message, a Christmas series, and last week I preached a New Year's sermon - and I feel a lot better, so I'm ready to finish the series on the Ten Commandments.

The first four commandments deal with our relationship to God, while the final six address our relationship with each other. The seventh commandment says, "Thou shalt not commit adultery," and the Hebrew Bible simply says, "No Unfaithfulness."

This commandment makes most of us uncomfortable became we've either been tempted - or we've been hurt. It's hard for us to understand why God would give us such a powerful drive but expect us to restrict its pull.
