A Redeeming Faith
All I Want for Christmas
James Merritt
Romans 10:11-17
Introduction
1. Especially in America and many places around the world there is a question that is asked over and over and over. It is a question that lets you know immediately what time of year it is. You don't have to look at the calendar, or your watch or even look outside to see what season you might be in. The question is, "What do you want for Christmas? " You know it is that time of year when children, particularly and yes more than a few adults make a Christmas list. A GOBankingRates survey asked thousands and thousands of Americans what they wanted more than anything else for Christmas. In other words, what was on their Christmas list. Do you want to hear the top three?
#3. An experience or a trip
#2. Clothing and accessories

#1. Cash and gift cards

You know what is true about every one of those gifts for the most part? They are either gone and you don't even have them anymore and one day they will either be put into a yard sale or given to someone else. You don't count the ones that you went in and exchanged for something else or just threw in the garbage can. (1)
3. Today, we are beginning perhaps the most unusual Christmas series I have ever done in my entire ministry. I am going to call it, "All I Want for Christmas. " I am going to give you my Christmas list and I guarantee you it is going to surprise you, but I believe that after this series is over you might agree with me that this ought to be on everyone's Christmas list. In fact, if every person on this planet made this their Christmas list and God gave them what they asked for our world would never be the same.
