HOW TO VOTE FOR A PRESIDENT
Habakkuk 2:1
Our heavenly Father, speak to our hearts and our lives this morning-. I
trust that Jesus Christ will be honored in every way. Lead us in this
worship experience, 0 Lord, is our prayer, is our petition, is our heart's
desire. Father, You speak. Let me get out of the way so that Thy word
and Thy word exclusively might be heard. For we make this prayer
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Turtulian, one of our early church fathers, first used the phrase "illusions of our
culture." Now, exactly what does that mean? This means that every culture has
about it certain illusions. For example: the Roman Empire will last forever. For
example: the whole universe revolves around the earth. Illusions! For example: War
is the best way to decide human conflict.
So what are these illusions? Illusion is something that seems to be true but actually
it's false. It's like a mirage. You see the water and the trees and the oasis and the
desert, but when you get there you discover, it's not there - it's an illusion - it is an
mirage. And we have a lot of illusions about our culture. It's involved in education.
It's involved in theology. It's involved in philosophy. It's involved in business. Things

we believe are absolutely accurate and true when actually they are false. And there's
a lot of that about. There always has been. You look at the Old Testament prophets
and they spent a great deal of their ministry just popping little bubbles of illusion in
that day. Jesus, our own savior and Lord, spent a great deal of his time exploiting
those who said: This is the way it is - no argument. And He came along and said: It
was said of them of old time, but I say unto you... So we see all the way through the
Bible illusions are destroyed.
Now we look around us and we accept principles and precepts and ideas and
philosophies and ...
