Genesis 21
The Birth of Isaac
1 And the LORD visited Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did unto Sarah as he had spoken.
2 For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.
Sometime between chapters 18 and 22 Sarah demonstrated faith in God to conceive. Given only the text of Genesis and Hebrews I conclude that her faith in God took place during this time.
Hebrews 11:11
Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.
In spite of the fact that Sara did not initially believe in the promise of God, demonstrated by her laughter and unbelief and Hagar given to Abraham to produce a child of promise, by the time the promise, she demonstrated faith in God and His promise and was given strength for conception, and gave birth to a child, at the latter years of her life, when childbearing was not possible because she considered God to be faithful, by nature, who had made the promise to her concerning the birth of a son. She believed God, because she considered who He was, thus she knew that she could trust in what He said. When God announced to Sarah that she was going to give birth, she considered who said it and that was it, not at the first, but according to this text, it did happen. She believed in the trustworthiness of God.

Now we see the promise fulfilled by God, the promise of a son by Sarah and Abraham. God has done the impossible from man’s perspective and have given them a child of their old age, the son of promise. (Genesis 17:15-17,19 and 18:9-14 read)
There are so many great lessons that we can learn here, but two of them, which are outstanding in my study of the scriptures thus far is:
• The absolute confidence in God’s ability to keep His word, His pr ...
