1 And it came to pass at the end of two full years, that Pharaoh dreamed: and, behold, he stood by the river.
Now look at this! Two full years have passed by since the last episode with Joseph. The Butler forgot all about him two years have passed since that time.
You know for many of us, if two full days passed by in adversity, we start complaining. And most of our complaining, I have discovered, has nothing to do with adversity; but because we want something and we feel that God is unfair because He doesn't give us what we wanted.
First of all, with that kind of attitude, I pray that God doesn't give us anything at all. God will not reward the ungrateful, the greedy, or the covetous. God knows what we need and when we need it, and it is not until He deems best for us to have what He will give us that we will see it. God is orchestrated the events in the life of Joseph to prepare him for this great exaltation that he will experience; but it is in God's time and not Joseph's. Now it's time to get Joseph out of prison.
1 And it came to pass at the end of two full years, that Pharaoh dreamed: and, behold, he stood by the river.
2 And, behold, there came up out of the river seven well favored kine and fatfleshed; and they fed in a meadow.
3 And, behold, seven other kine came up after them out of the river, ill favored and leanfleshed; and stood by the other kine upon the brink of the river.
4 And the ill favored and leanfleshed kine did eat up the seven well favored and fat kine. So Pharaoh awoke.
Pharaoh has two dreams. The first dream is of 14 cows; 7 fat, and 7 ugly and bony cows. All of the cows came up out of the river and the 7 ugly and bony cows ate up the 7 fat cows.
5 And he slept and dreamed the second time: and, behold, seven ears of corn came up upon one stalk, rank and good.
6 And, behold, seven thin ears and blasted with the east wind sprun ...
