1 Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;
For reasons already discussed about Christ, then, my fellow saints, who are sharers of the Heavenly glory to come, consider the apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus.
Consider Christ. Reflect upon and understand Him. Perceive Him strongly, fix your mind and focus upon Him. This is the great omission of many professing Christianity today. We are so self-focused, we are so introspect, so concerned about our own flesh and perceived needs (which are usually wants) that we have little or no time to focus on Christ. Just listen to the things that are being said about Him in Christian circles and compare them to the Bible. By doing that it is absolutely clear that most professing Christians know little to nothing of who Jesus is. I hear with careful perception and notice not only that things that are said about Him which are either distorted or have nothing to do with the scriptures; or worse than that, the many things that are left out of our speech and understanding concerning who He is. How many Christians knew that Jesus was called an Apostle? How many people have passed over the pages of the Old Testament, finding it boring and stale, yet the ministry of the High Priest of our profession, which the writer of Hebrews calls Christ to be the greatest of, we are ignorant of.
• We are told of a Jesus that forgives my sin, tolerates my sin, participates in my sin, whose bloody sacrifice allows me to participate in abominable behavior under the guise of grace.
• This Jesus has little or no power, which is clearly indicated by the lifestyles of those who profess to know Him.
• This Jesus also seems to be very much a racist, tolerating different types of bigotry, under the guise of culture and status.
