WORKING BOTH SIDES OF THE STREET
John 19:38
I hope you already have your Bibles open. I'm going to read two passages
of Scripture, one in the Gospel of John, Chapter 19, Verse 38 following;
and then for the parallel passage in Luke, Luke Chapter 23, Verse 50 fol-
lowing. First the passage in John 19:38:
"And after these things, Joseph of Arimathea, being a
disciple of Jesus, but a secret one for fear of the Jews,
aked Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus,
and Pilate granted permission. He came, therefore, and
took away His body. And Nicodemus came also who had
first come to Him by night, bringing a mixture of myrrh
and aloes, about a hundred pounds weight. And so they
took the body of Jesus and bound it in linen wrappings
w,,th the sp-ices a@ is the buriai custom of the Jews."
And then the passage in Luke. Chapter 23, Verse 50 following:
"And behold, a man named Joseph who was a member of the
council, a good and righteous man, he had not consented
to their plan and action, a man from Arimathea, a city
of the Jews, who was waiting for the kingdom of God.
This man went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus."
Let's pray together.
