ADULTERY
Exodus 20:14
Billy Graham's team did extensive research trying to decide whether the
title of his messages in crusades had anything to do with attendance. And
they came up with a startling statistic. Anytime the word "sex" was used
in a title of a sermon, wherever it was on the face of this earth, the crowd
would increase by one-fourth in attendance. You should see some of the
titles that his team members suggested as he would preach in those crusades.
Tonight we consider the seventh commandment, a clear word in the 14th Verse
of Exodus 20, we read:
Thou zhau not commit adutteay.
Let's pray together.
"Father, we bow our heads and our hearts before You. We open up our minds
and our consciences to You, and we ask that Your Spirit in this hour will
not only reach the surface area of our living, but will go down into our
psyche into the essence of our being and deal with us as Your people. Lord,
let me get out of the way. I pray that not vainly or tritely or out of
habit, but Lord, I pray sincerely, Let me get out of the way so that Thy word,
Thy truth, Thy message alone might be heard, received, understood, and
applied into our lives. For we make this prayer in the strong, holy name
that's above every other name. The name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and our
Lord. Amen."
