Christmas - “God’s Way”

Honesty! What comes to your mind when you hear that word? I believe most, if not all of us, know what honesty is. It is being truthful or telling the truth. It seems a little mind-boggling that, in today’s culture, some don’t believe that absolute ‘‘TRUTH’’ even exist. In fact, 30 years ago, Josh McDowell told us that 70% of our young people will say, ‘‘No absolute truth exists’’ (it didn’t matter whether they were inside or outside of the church. I could spend a great deal of time debunking the myth of no absolute truth, but the truth is that the world is full of things which scream absolute. How many seconds in a minute, minute in an hour, hours in a day, days in a week, etc? How many finger on your hand?
In the same way we find absolute truth in the physical world, we can find it in the intellectual, emotional, medical and SPIRITUAL worlds.
Truth is defined as: that which is right for all people, in all places, at all times.’’ Truth is honesty. Most of us have been taught from childhood that honesty is the best policy. Do you know why? When you tell the truth, it is constant and consistent, when you tell an untruth, you have to remember what story you made us and to whom you told it. (By the way - an untruth is a twin to disinformation which is a LIE.)
One of the most difficult truths to know and admit to is this: The truth about ourselves (Me, Myself, and I). Man, I can tell you the truth about others, but when it comes to myself, my family, or even my church, I’m apt to spin it a bit and spin will go in my direction to make me and mine look good.
