SYNOPSIS: This message is a simple salvation sermon that is great for any time of the year

Without a doubt, Bing Crosby’s ‘‘White Christmas’’ is the quintessential Christmas classic. The song calls for a blanket of snow on Christmas that will make the treetops glisten.

But the Apostle John shows us in these two verses how a white Christmas can be more than just a dream. It can be a glorious and gracious reality that you can experience today.

Listen to the secret to experiencing a white Christmas: ‘‘By this the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.’’

Isaiah prophesied of this white Christmas and said on God’s behalf, ‘‘Though your sins be as scarlet they can be as white as snow. And though they are red like crimson they can be as white as wool.’’

And it’s all because on that first Christmas Day, God sent His Son.

Galatians 4:4 - But when the fullness of time came, God sent forth His Son

Verse 14 in this chapter says, ‘‘The Father has sent the Son to be the Savior of the World.’’

Matthew 10:40 - The one who receives Me receives Him who sent Me.

Luke 4 - The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me (in part because) He has sent Me to proclaim release to captives...

Luke 4:43 - But He said to them, ‘‘I must also preach the kingdom of God to the other cities, because I was sent for this purpose.’’

John 4:34 - Jesus said to them, ‘‘My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to accomplish His work.
