Ephesians 4:25-5:2
There are people all over the world today... that are desperate for life change.
In fact, one of the most common searches on Google today... are searches related to the HOW TO’s for experiencing life transformation or change in a person’s life.
One search that I had this week showed me The TOP 10 ways to CHANGE your life:
1. Create a dream board
2. Set goals
3. Do something that scares you
4. Travel the world
5. Change your routine
6. Get a new job
7. Sell your house
8. Get more active
9. Change your diet
10. Purchase a pet
As I read these things... and the rationale behind each one... I came to the realization... that these things may change a person’s circumstances, or a person’s routine, or even a person’s financial stability... but none of these things have the capacity or ability to change a person’s life.
Only Jesus can truly change your life! Only Jesus can take you from death to life... Only Jesus can take you from being a sinner to being a saint... Only Jesus can take you from a place where you have no hope or joy or peace... and bring you to a place of complete contentment... by faith. Jesus is the only One that can change your life like that!
And what we’ve seen over the past several weeks... is THAT life change only happens when we go ALL IN with Jesus Christ. It doesn’t happen when Jesus is a PART of your life... it only happens when Christ IS your life.
That’s what we’ve learned so far in this letter... as Paul was writing to the believers in Ephesus, he was showing them, that... When Christ changes a person’s life, they not only receive a new identity ‘in Christ’ ... they also receive a new goal in life.
Paul shared that goal in [4:1] when he told them to: ‘‘walk worthy of the calling you have received.’’ I can just imagine these new believers in Ephesus... opening up the original scroll of t ...
