JEZEBEL
Revelation 2:18-29


I hope you already have your Bibles open to Revelation, chapter number
2, our scripture, beginning with verse 18 going all through the end of
the chapter, verse 29. Revelation 2:18 through 29.

Let's pray together.

Father, steady us this morning. Give us a sense of Thy peace and of Thy
presence. Those here that need to be shocked into reality. Those here
that need to be soothed with Thy confidence. Some may need healing.
Some hope for tomorrow. Many forgiveness. Lord, whatever our needs,
whatever the cries of our hearts, whatever the reason for our tears, we
pray that Thou will come in this hour and deal with us in a deeply
personal way. Lord, You speak. Let me get out of the way so that Thy
Word and Thy holy and divine message might not only be heard, may it be
received and understood and incorporated into our living. For we make
this prayer in the strong, holy, saving name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Nobody could believe that Ima Church was dating Johnny Worldly. The
Church family and the Worldly family had always been at odds. But now
Ima was going out with Johnny and nobody could understand it. Ima
qu4le+,, i.ntrospective, verv rp-ligious, just like her family. Johnny
open, gregarious, he loved to have a good time. If laughter and action
were there, you'd find Johnny.

Now, Ima was attracted to Johnny in a strange sort of way. A part of
her family, the Church family, said, "Johnny's bad. Don't even date
him." But another part of the Church family said, "You know it's high
time we got along with the Worldlys. Why, if they were to accept us,
we'd be accepted by everybody, and everybody would look upon us with a
little different eye."
Johnny proposed to Ima. Ima accepted. The ...
