Matthew 5:27-32


‘‘Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement: But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.

As I’ve stated before, God created us to worship Him, and have relationships with one another.

Marriage was instituted by God to be a physical reflection of our spiritual relationship with Him, and anybody who wants to divorce God, in my opinion, needs to get checked out!!

• It was God who created the institution of marriage between one man and one woman as evidenced in the Book of Genesis;
• It was God who intended that the relationship be monogamous and not have any outside influences and distractions;
• It was God who never intended for divorce to be something that takes place with regard to those relationships.

Concerning this relationship between one man and one woman, I believe society has conditioned us to believe (1) that intimacy is a bad thing due to the entertainment industry - namely magazines, movies, and even some shows on prime time television; and (2) that you don’t need to remain faithful to your spouse or even yo ...
